Preliminary results are that the JLP won 31-29 and they're recounting this morning. And instead awaiting the recount, our lovely Prime Minister is stirring shit, talking about people being prevented from voting? Really, is this the time? Esp since she fully well knows she has criminal followers who are not afraid to go around shooting people who wronged them. There is a better way to handle this but then this is portia so the low road is going to be the best road.
When she first won leadership of PNP I wasn't out celebrating, I hadn't seen much of her in a leadership role but I knew she is one the most loved politicians in Jamaica and I figured it had to be more than just being Sports minister. What I did like about her winning was that as corny as it sounds it was inspiring to a lot of women that they could strive and achieve their goals. She held herself up as an example to the Jamaican women and it was very inspiring. Until the fuckery started. What it was for me at first was her answer to a lot of questions as God. Wonderful, it's all well and good she has faith but come on, you're a prime minister you're answer to what's your plan for our future cannot be God. And then when faced with negative reviews or comments what would she do? Answer like some street vendor. WTF kinda response is "Don't draw mi tongue?" You think I can go in a meeting and answer my bosses that way? What kinda example are you setting? And if it was the one time, it wouldn't be so bad.
Now in this time of uncertainty with the election results being so close what does she do? Does she try to keep people calm, reassure the people? This is why I hope the preliminary count stands and JLP is indeed the victor then someone needs to hand portia a mirror so she can know just why she failed.
